It then calculates various relevant parameters automatically and displays them at the touch of a button. GeneQuant offers convenient sampling. It has a range of flow cells making it easy to select the one most suitable for the sample concentration, dilution factor and available sample volume. The instrument is ideal for determining the concentration and purity of nucleic acids after PCR amplification, for hybridisation studies and for quantifying minipreps. In addition, protein concentration can be measured directly at 280 nm without the addition of reagents to a sample. Factors for the calculations are stored for convenient operation, but can be overwritten by the user if required. Automatic UV lamp control (patent pending) simplifies operation and extends lamp life. This breakthrough in technology makes GeneQuant compact, rugged and affordable for every laboratory.
