Question
My instrument has an RS232 connector but my PC only has a USB. How can I connect them?
Answer
If your PC does not have a RS232 but has a USB port then a USB converter must be used to connect the instrument to a PC. If using a PC-controlled instrument, check that the software that you are using to communicate with the instrument is using the correct communications (com) port.
To determine which com port the instrument is using go to: Start menu\Control Panel\System\Device Manger\Ports.
